May Day Weekend

This year the camping weekend coincided with May Day. Bristol Morris were able to have sides dancing both in Bristol (at sunrise) and Dorset (a bit later in the day for once), satisfying both of the side's traditions!

The loyal band of sunrise dancers! ....and their musicians
Meanwhile, other musicians were playing in Dorset Dancing at Corfe Castle
Demonstrating perfectly why BMM always stick in syncopation! Weyhill Fair at naughty Studland Bay.

Dolphin Ring Meeting and Chippenham Festival, May 2004

We attended the Dolphin Ring Meeting in Nottinghamshire, and later that month made a regular appearance at the Chippenham Folk Festival.

Dancing in Hannover, July 2004

We were invited to dance at the Hannover Schutzenfest, and were once again guest of our old friends Tanzkreis Hannover. We danced in the town centre on the Saturday, and on the Sunday joined in an immense march, dancing the Winster Processional for four kilometres!

Pete Rees shows us how to get off the ground in Jockey to the Fair! We also did The Jubilee Dance
Here are some Ascott crossback steps And these, amazingly enough, are meant to be Ascott sidestep handmovements!
The rapper side gave a short inter-thunderstorm display Who forgot the sashes?

Erik Day, October 2004

Because Earlsdon were unable to field a side for this year's Erik Day, Paul Rosser arranged, at short notice, a very successful cycle tour around Clevedon and Nailsea

Setting off from the Rossers' House ....whence to The Drum and Monkey at Kenn
Not dancing today due to injury, wudzi wore Erik's hat as a spectator The mastermind behind the Cycle Tour
From Kenn, we cycled to The Blue Flame at Nailsea, where we danced some more Andy, getting a lot out of a stick dance at The Blue Flame
